THE EFFECT OF COLORS – BLUE


Blue, which comes in a huge number of tints and shades, is a reliable and strong color. For most people blue is easiest to wear. Blue has mystery about it. Its effect is clear, cool and defined. Combinations using blue are interpreted as dependable and reliable. They also carry an undeniable message of authority. For some communities, blue is a holy color, for some it stands for spring, and victory, for some it is popular as workers clothes (right from bankers to laborers).

With each deepening shade, the message differs. From innocent pale blue, it varies dramatically to exciting navy blue. When worn alone, Strength of vivid blue can be overpowering. It is best suited with hues of the same color scheme, the primary yellow and red. When paired with red and gold, navy blue becomes less stern, but still it communicates firmness and strength. When contrasted with neutrals, blue is modern, business like and urban image. When paired with white, navy blue forms a strikingly dissimilar combination. The combination of royal blue with black is rigid and hard but sophisticated. Pale blue goes well with pastels but get more interesting when a third color is added.

Using true shades of blue creates harmony in hue of different intensities. Blue is the basic color of almost all the wardrobes. Blue is basically a cool color but it harmonizes easily with a range of colors. This flexibility allows it’s pairing with variety of accessories for day wear. Blue is available in all kinds of fabrics and all shades. We need to choose the tone and fabric that suit our lifestyle.

As evening color, it is dramatic and rich, especially when in suits of silk In crepe or taffetas. Blue is being picked up by designing in its various forms pin stripes, classic navy blue being the most popular.
