Yellow is bold and electric and it stands out.
Yellow is traditionally used on outer wears and raincoats for safety as its
wavelength and visibility is more. Yellow is more feminine than pink,
especially for Indian skin. Associated with sun, it is a scared color with
primitive appeal.
Yellow when worn with whites and off-whites glows
and gives a look of eternal summer. When contrasted with lilac or blue or
lavender, it is refreshing and sporty. Transparent fabric of yellow gives a
modern bright look. Yellow used on organdy and silk is sophisticated and
mysterious. Yellow contrasted with pink is dramatic and bold and changes with
the depth of pink or yellow changing. It is placed near white to judge the brightness
level. Hence, it looks dramatic with black.
Pure bright yellow is cool. Deeper yellows are
warm. Cool yellows can be mixed with colors from either side of wheel i.e.
green, yellow and red. Warm yellow color combines best with cool neutral colors
like brown, pale green, lavender. Yellow produces a radiant effect, quite
effects, bright effect, a strong effect, an energetic effect. When worn at
daytime, pale shades are used. Darker shades are frequently paired with other colors.
Stripes, checks and floral prints are also seen in yellow.As an evening color yellow has an exotic appeal. Silk, velvet and taffetas are all found in royal shades of yellow. They are also worn for dramatic and spotlight looks. A small amount of yellow also gives zest to the entire color scheme of duller neutrals. Yellow looks well on synthetic fabrics. Yellow is important for jacquards, for accessories and for sportswear.
