Violet is very cool and unpredictable color that
looks easy but hard to use. It looks good to be displayed in stores, but the
moment you take it home and try, it becomes very challenging. Violet looks good
on blondes and red heads, but on pale and dark skins it gives a completely ‘say
no to me’ look. It is harder to use in accessories. Violets were once seasons
for the royals and today too, it evokes elements of magic and surprise.
Subdued shades of amethyst and lilac are getting
popular in women’s wardrobe these days. Pale violet is dreamy and if you deeper
it’s hue to red violet it projects sophistication.
When used with yellow, green and orange, it becomes
whimsical and clownish. Yellow, the compliment of violet balances it but it is
practically impossible to wear it as a combination.
Secondary colors pair well with violet. Using red
with violet is a vibrant, sensual and gives a daring effect. When used with
grey, it speaks out refinement and urban sophistication. Pale violet with
floral print as day wear has always been popular with older women. Now lavender
blue is gaining popularity amongst all age groups.
Violet as evening color in light chiffons, sheer
stripes, ethnic pattern gauges is sophisticated in warm climates. Satin in
simple silhouettes are statements for this regal color.
